Humoresque for Flute, Oboe, Clarinet and Piano, Op. 1

Date of Composition: 2006; rev. 2009, 2013, 2023

Duration: 3.5 Minutes

Commissioner: NA

Program Notes: Scored for flute, oboe, clarinet and piano, Gianopoulos' first composition, Humoresque, is a short and playful piece based on a photograph of a peacock on the side of the road in rural upstate New York. The peacocks theme is tossed around amongst the woodwinds until it culminates into a sweeping piano solo before returning to the theme and concluding with a jazz-infused finale.
