Op. 1 - Humoresque
for Flute, Oboe, Clarinet & Piano
(2006/2010)
Program Notes: Scored for flute, oboe, clarinet in A and piano, Gianopoulos first composition, Op. 1 Humoresque is a short and playful piece based on a photograph of a peacock on the side of the road in rural upstate New York. The peacocks theme is tossed around amongst the woodwinds until it culminates into a sweeping piano solo before returning to the theme and concluding with a jazz-infused finale.
